Irwin Tools: A century of history full of innovation and quality

Irwin Tools has a long and storied history, dating back to the beginnings of an emerging nation a full century ago. In 1885, Charles Irwin received a patent for the auger bit and, together with four business partners, founded the Irwin Auger Bit Company. Later, in 1924, William Peterson, a Danish immigrant, invented the Vise-Grip® Grip Pliers and also had them patented. Through continuous innovation and the acquisition of several companies, these two companies evolved into IRWIN TOOLS. The company manufactures and distributes a diverse range of hand tools and accessories for power tools. Products include Jack® hand saws, Record® clamping and gripping tools, various pliers and plumbing tools, Jordan® drill bits, Quick-Grip® clamping tools, Marples® chisels and woodworking tools, and Unibit® drill bits.
